ICYMI: Bill McSwain is the best candidate to beat Josh Shapiro

Highlights from the third GOP Gubernatorial Debate

West Chester, Pa.—  Bill McSwain, Republican candidate for Governor, on Thursday participated in the third GOP Gubernatorial Debate at the Blair County Convention Center, hosted by the Blair County Republican Committee.

Throughout the course of the debate, McSwain explained why he is the best candidate to defend and protect the liberties of hardworking families, and stressed that his vision for a stronger, safer, more secure Pennsylvania has resulted in vigorous support and strong grassroots fundraising across the Commonwealth.

In his opening remarks, McSwain promised to restore the personal freedoms of all Pennsylvanians as Governor:

In a McSwain administration, there will be no lockdowns, there will be no statewide mandates. Schools will be open, and we will have school choice. The size of government will be reduced. Right now, the government is too big and too intrusive. You are overtaxed – I am going to change that. Businesses are over-regulated – I’m going to change that. We are one election away from putting Pennsylvania on the right track, and we will do that together.

When asked what sets him apart from other candidates, McSwain emphasized that his professional background, significant campaign funding, and status as a conservative outsider make him the only candidate who can beat Josh Shapiro:

McSwain also shared that his history of upholding law and order as U.S. Attorney, dedication to conservative values, and lifelong commitment to public service make him the best candidate to bring much-needed change to all 67 counties:

We are going through a crisis of public safety and I am the only candidate who is qualified to tackle those problems. I am the only candidate who is a prosecutor, the only candidate with law enforcement experience, and I will not take any town or county for granted. What we need to beat Josh Shapiro is all-out commitment. We need a Marine’s mentality, we need a tough Marine to do a tough job. That’s who I am, and that’s the kind of commitment I’m going to bring to this race.

Appointed by President Trump, McSwain’s record as US Attorney demonstrates his fierce defense of constitutional rights, dedication to upholding law and order, and history of putting criminals and corrupt politicians in jail.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Bill served as a scout/sniper platoon commander in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was born in Philadelphia and raised in Chester County, where he lives today with his wife, Stephanie, and their four children.More information on McSwain’s background and platform is available here.
